Do you know how to increase followers on WordPress? Part 1

With so many people blogging nowadays and so much amazing content out there, how can a new blogger on WordPress get followers?

I’m still learning and I would like to get more followers, but how? I like to write my own thoughts. Original content is important to me. From my recent research on blogging it seems you need to post regularly at first in order to be  successful. This worried me because I didn’t want my followers to be overwhelmed by my blogs in their inbox.

I thought about the problem and decided that the way forward was to post short content and publish it twice a week.

That way my followers were not snowed-under, and it gave me time to think about my blogs. A win-win situation. So, if you are new to blogging you might like to consider that.

The second piece of advice which I think is worthwhile is use your own images and photos. WordPress does have some free-to-use images,

and I have used them occasionally, but I think it is far more interesting for your followers if you use your own. That way your followers are tasting something of your life and experiences.

And then you have to decide the title of your post. This is a difficult one. You don’t have to decide straight away. Read through your post and think what title would reach out to me if this was some one else’s blog?  The answer will come to you. My answer usually comes when I have left the article for a while.

How To Recycle Traffic To Your Blog?

Starting a blog isn’t easy; everyone thinks it’s easy, you have to think about what contents to write that will help others and get your readers interested enough to subscribe to the blog to get a notification for when you have written some new ones.

I found creating new contents tricky.  In the beginning, my blog was all about the treatments I offered, so I stopped.

I found driving traffic to my blog hard. I used to think everyone else seemed to have cracked this blogging market, and it caused me stress and writers’ block.

I deleted my beauty blog and started a new, writing about working from home and the struggles one faces with attracting new clients. Gave me a platform that connected with many people who work from home who are also in the same situation as me, this allowed me to share what I have learned in my journey to working from home. I started seeming people visiting my blog, read it and like the contents.

I wanted to increase my readership, so I decided to think outside of my comfort zone. The fastest way I have found in driving traffic to my blog has been recycling old contacts.

I lost touch with many people I knew other the years; you can call me old fashion, but I have always kept everyone’s email address and numbers.

Just think of all the people you knew back when you were in school, college, university or at work. You already have a big audience to start your campaign.

Write to them and ask them if they could read your blog if their like to subscribe for free. And you invite your subscribers from your blog to other social media that’s connected to your blog.
