A friend of mine asked me about how to share their interests with others. I told them about blogging. They have read other people’s blogs, but they didn’t know how to go about starting a blog themselves. So I was explaining to them the basics of blogging, and it got me thinking about writing a small series about the subject to help them and anyone else who may be wondering how to go about it.
Blogging can be about a specific topic or various things. If you are looking to convert your blog into an income- generating hobby then click the link at the end of this post.
The first thing you need to think about is a name for your blog. It has to be a name that is easy to remember and, therefore, easily searchable. ‘The Little African Beauty Room’ was originally the name of my physical beauty business, and I didn’t intend it to be a blog. The name is a bit longer than is ideal for a blog, but I didn’t want to change it as I had over 1,000 ex- clients who used to come for treatment and been accustomed to searching it on Google when they wanted to book an appointment. But for your blog, you need something simple and catchy. Write down a few names on a piece of paper and ask your friends and family what they think of the name. Then write a short bio and what your blog is about. I would recommend no more than 500 words. Then click on this link: http://wordpress.com/refer-a-friend/rL2xVq7FWx7jk37XZOgm
to register your blog name which is called a domain name. Once you have done that the link will take you to a dashboard where you can read step- by- step instructions on writing and publishing your first masterpiece.
And don’t forget to follow ‘The Little African Beauty Room’ to get the next in the series.
